BEFORE YOU VISIT
A few things
before you visit.
A few answers about our food, reservations and dietary requests.
What kind of food does DULi serve?
DULi is a plant-based restaurant rooted in Sichuan flavour and shaped by culinary ideas from across Asia and the world. Fusion here is a way of cooking: familiar mapo, gongbao and Sichuan pepper meet hummus, pasta, pizza and house-made desserts.
Is DULi vegan? What does plant-based mean here?
Yes. The regular food and drinks at both DULi Shanghai and DULi Beijing are entirely vegan: no meat, fish, eggs, dairy or honey. Vegan does not mean allergen-free or allium-free. Tell the team about allergies or other dietary requirements before reserving and ordering.
What should I order on a first visit?
For a first visit to the Shanghai flagship, start with mapo tofu hummus, Gongbao pizza or one of the mushroom dishes, then finish with DULi tiramisu. Availability can change, so use the current menu as the final guide. Ask Beijing separately about its dishes.
What is the difference between the Shanghai and Beijing restaurants? Is the menu the same?
Yanping Road in Shanghai is DULi’s flagship, and the full menu and prices published on this website refer to the flagship. The Beijing restaurant is inside the Friendship Store compound; dishes, prices and seasonal availability may differ, so contact the Beijing team for the current menu.
Where is DULi, and how can I reserve?
Shanghai flagship: 227 Yanping Road, Jing’an District, Shanghai; +86 177 6514 1737. Beijing: DULi, ground-floor shop inside the Friendship Store compound, 17 Jianguomen Outer Street, Chaoyang District; +86 185 1953 8158. Contact your chosen restaurant to reserve.
What are the opening hours, and should I check before visiting?
Our Shanghai flagship and Beijing restaurant are both open Monday–Sunday, 11:00–22:00 (China Standard Time, UTC+8). Please contact your chosen restaurant for reservations.
Are all dishes free from alliums?
No. Some dishes contain scallions, garlic or other alliums. Mala Mala is marked as allium-free on this menu. Please discuss specific requirements with the team before ordering.
What if I have a food allergy?
Dishes may contain nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat or sesame. Selected ingredients on this website are not a full recipe check. Contact the restaurant with your specific allergies so the team can confirm suitable options and kitchen arrangements.
What kind of cheese is used?
Plant-based cheese and house-made plant-based feta are part of our menu. Recipes vary by dish; ask the team about the specific ingredients in cheeses, creams and sauces.
Can I bring a pet?
The Yanping Road opening announcement welcomed pets. Please call ahead to confirm the available seating area and arrangements for your visit.
Do you offer group dining or catering?
DULi has provided food for company gatherings, private parties, weddings and brand collaborations. Contact the restaurant with your date, guest count, venue and dietary requirements.
How does the tiramisu support a good cause?
The current menu states that tiramisu proceeds support the Heart to Heart Fund, helping children from disadvantaged families receive congenital heart surgery. Read more in our journal.
Is DULi Shanghai still at 38 Donghu Road?
No. 38 Donghu Road is DULi Shanghai’s former address. The current flagship is at 227 Yanping Road, Jing’an District. Please use the Yanping Road address when planning your visit.
What are the prices, and is there an English menu?
The Shanghai menu is available in Chinese and English, with prices in CNY: mapo tofu hummus ¥85, Gongbao pizza ¥98 and scallion pesto pasta ¥78 are examples. These are individual dish prices, not a set menu or a guaranteed spend per person. Check current availability and contact Beijing for its menu.
Can I visit if I do not enjoy spicy food?
Sichuan chilli and pepper are part of DULi’s cooking, but heat varies between dishes and sauces. Tell the team how comfortable you are with chilli and Sichuan pepper before ordering. They can explain suitable options; not every dish can be made non-spicy.
Where can I read independent guest reviews?
Guest Voices brings together selected HappyCow and Tripadvisor reviews by restaurant, with source links, dates and photo credits. Follow each original-review link to read the full context and the latest feedback on the independent platform.
Can I visit DULi with non-vegan friends?
Yes, non-vegan guests are welcome. Regular food and drinks are entirely vegan; DULi does not offer a separate meat menu. Mapo tofu hummus, Gongbao pizza and scallion pesto pasta on the Shanghai menu are useful starting points for exploring our fusion cooking. Preferences vary, so browse the menu and discuss spice preferences and allergies with the team.
What time are last food orders?
Shanghai’s last food orders are at 21:15. Beijing’s are at 21:00, with drinks only from 21:00–22:00; Beijing may pause from 15:00–17:00 if food sells out. Both restaurants’ regular opening hours are daily 11:00–22:00, China Standard Time (UTC+8). Check the day’s arrangements with your chosen restaurant.
